Questions About Our Services

How many sites will I be removed from?

We cover these sites. A typical customer is found on at least half of those people search sites but it can vary widely depending on your privacy practices, your address history, your age, and whether you've previously removed yourself.

Our removals target the sites that are most likely to be discoverable and to have and share your data. We don't target people-search sites where we can't find your data, or where your data is not easily discoverable, because sharing additional information with these sites may expose you to additional risk.

We've also identified a few data brokers that have almost everyone's personal information and share it widely with other businesses even though they're not publicly searchable. We perform opt-outs for these key brokers. We don't perform blind opt-outs with smaller, less important data brokers.

Are any coupons or discounts available?

Generally, no. Our service is the most affordable by a large margin.

If you need help paying, please reach out so we can help. We want our service to be accessible to everyone.

For non-profits and government, we're happy to offer a 25% discount.

Why should I trust EasyOptOuts?

Check out summaries and find links to ratings and reviews to compare us with the other removal services. People love us and our effectiveness has been proven in multiple tests.

Read our privacy policy to see the strict agreements that protect your data.

If you want to be extra careful before you sign up, you can look yourself up on some of the sites we cover. Then, don't give us any information that's not already out there.

However you choose to move forward, we offer a 150-day money-back guarantee and the lowest prices in the market.

Why are you so much cheaper than other services?

It's our mission to make securing your privacy easy and affordable. That means we do a few things differently than other opt-out services – without reducing our effectiveness. (At least not according to the experts who give us great reviews.)

First, we focus our efforts on the people-search sites and data brokers that are most likely to show up in search results and/or share your information with other brokers or sites. By emphasizing quality over quantity, we can remove you from search without potentially compromising your privacy by sending your information to brokers that don't already have it.

Next, our opt-outs are 100% automated. That helps keep our prices low, but it also means we never send your personal information to overseas contractors to perform manual opt-outs.

Finally, we don't waste money on marketing and we keep our service simple and focused on effective removals. We offer a 150-day money-back guarantee if you're not totally satisfied with the level of service you receive.

What information do you require during signup?

To help protect your privacy, we ask for as little data as possible during the sign up process (and we use as little as we can when performing opt-outs).

To be able to identify and opt you out of search sites, we ask for the following information:

  • Legal name
  • Any other names you have used (optional)
  • Birth year
  • Current address
  • Past addresses (optional)
  • Current phone number (optional)
  • Past phone numbers (optional)
  • Contact email address
  • Secondary email addresses (optional)
  • Names of your relatives (optional)

We can be more effective when you share more optional information, but we ultimately require very little information to perform opt-outs. Unlike some other services, we don't need a picture of your ID or for you to sign a power of attorney.

Can you remove me from legal, mugshots, business, news, academic, or social media sites?

Probably not. In general, legal records and mugshots are difficult to remove without a court order. News articles and academic records are usually impossible to remove.

If you want to change your social media visibility, that's totally in your control. Just sign in to your social media accounts and change the privacy settings yourself.

A "reputation management" company might be able to help remove or hide online mentions of you in some cases.

For more information on how we help (and how to handle situations we don't support), please see the sites we cover.

I've never been arrested. Why was I found on an arrest warrant site?

Some sites like texasarrestwarrants.org sound like they're for arrest information, but they're actually just general-purpose people-search sites. The site names are misleading, and being found on one of these sites is normal even if you've never been arrested.

Can you remove me from PeopleConnect sites like intelius.com, truthfinder.com, ussearch.com, and instantcheckmate.com?

PeopleConnect now uses an opt-out process that we can't support. They require you to receive a message in your personal email inbox or SMSes. We can't receive those messages on your behalf, unfortunately.

PeopleConnect runs multiple sites, and you can opt out of all of them in a few minutes by using their suppression tool.

How quickly will this work?

After you sign up, we'll begin searching for you right away. It will take us up to two weeks to find your records and submit opt-out requests for them.

A recent Consumer Reports study observed test subjects removed from almost 60% of tested sites within a week (and substantially more as time went on). See more details on the ratings and reviews page.

When it comes to Google (and other search engine) searches, the results will take a while longer to go away. After a people-search site removes your listing, it can take several weeks longer for Google to crawl the page again, see that you're gone, and update their cached search results.

Your data will find its way back onto people-search sites occasionally. That's why we perform regular scans.

If you're not satisfied with the results, we offer a 150-day money-back guarantee (which should give you plenty of time to see how effective we are).

Are family/friends plans available?

No, but we hope to add them. Email us to let us know if you're interested: contact@easyoptouts.com

Are business plans available?

Yes. Our service is a great way to protect your employees and business from phishing attacks and social engineering that could lead to data breaches or fraud. Enhanced privacy is also a great employee benefit.

Check out our business plans or email us if you'd like to talk through the options.

Does your service work for people outside of the USA?

No, sorry. The data broker sites we cover mostly have US resident data and we're only set up to handle US phones and addresses.

I'm having trouble paying during signup. Can you help?

Sorry! It's probably because PayPal, our payment processor, is unable to charge your payment method. They don't share their reason for rejecting the payment with us. You may want to try again using a different card or bank account. It might also help to try using a different browser or different device.

If you're using a virtual or prepaid card and the limit isn't high enough or it doesn't support recurring payments, it may cause trouble as well.

You can contact PayPal to find out more about why your payment isn't working.

PayPal is our only payment processor for payments whether you use a PayPal account or not. We can't currently accept payments in other ways.

How secure is the data I share with you?

We use industry-standard encryption, passwordless email authentication, and 100% automated opt-outs to minimize the number of people seeing your data. We collect only the minimum data necessary and never sell your information to anyone or share it anywhere unnecessary.

How does your money-back guarantee work?

If you're not happy with the service we provide, we'll give you a full refund within 150 days of signing up. Just email us. Please let us know what we could have done better—we're always working to improve.

Questions About Your Account

I just signed up. What happens next?

We'll start searching for you and submitting opt-out requests. Once we've checked all the sites and submitted all the opt-out requests, we'll send you an email summarizing our findings.

For some sites, even after we send you the summary email, we'll keep following up with them as necessary.

Every four months we'll do it all over again to make sure you're staying off of people-search sites.

How can I cancel my subscription or delete my data?

Log in to your account and you'll see an option for cancelling. When you cancel your subscription, we'll immediately delete all of the data we have about you and you won't be charged again.

To delete just some of the data you gave us without cancelling your subscription, please email us: contact@easyoptouts.com

Can you add support for a new site?

We'll need to see what's possible. Please email us to tell us what you're interested in. It'd be great to hear from you. Your feedback is essential for helping us prioritize what to work on: contact@easyoptouts.com

How do I change my email address or other account details?

Sign in to your account where you'll find an option to change your account email address, modify billing, or update your personal information for future opt-outs. If you've lost access, please email us for help: contact@easyoptouts.com

Why is my data still in Google and Bing search results?

Search engines scrape web pages once in a while and keep track of what they see. When you see yourself in a search, you're probably seeing their saved data. It can be out of date after you're removed from a people-search site but before the search engine discovers the change.

It could take a few weeks for the pages that had the deleted site records to be scraped again and for the search engines to update their search results.

Why is my data still on a particular site?

Is the data on one of the sites we support?

If yes, it can take a while for the sites we do support to process opt-out requests. If it's been less than a week or two since you received your opt-out report, sit tight. The data will probably go away soon. If it's been longer than that, let us know where you're still seeing your information, and we'll investigate. Links and screenshots are helpful if you want to reach out: contact@easyoptouts.com

If it's not one of the sites we support, we didn't search for you there. Please let us know where you found your data so that we can look into automating the removal process and including it in our regular scans.
